“What and where were the elements of creation, the fact about who, or who not created? It is only known to the Absolute. Even the Absolute may not know…” (Rig 10.129.4-5). This is what were quoted along with other poignant lines from ancient scriptures and living master traditions by way of elucidation as I sat with my elder to discuss about the evolutionary journey of Individual consciousness.
The journey of consciousness from the infinite to the “I” in the body was long, between which stood the tapestry of evolution in amazing vivacity. From the first microbe to space station-setting present day Homo sapiens, the voyage was painstakingly slow, took millions of years of tiny steps in progression that populated the earth with all sorts of creatures, flora and fauna, many of which are still unknown to us and yet to be documented. In living masters’ tradition what was explained to me is elucidated here after.
How was the primary aliveness progressed to the heightened state of early human beings? Being coaxed by the non-deficient, abundantly available fluctuations in surrounding, the primary aliveness, by stabilizing the own share of fluctuations, tried to empower own-self through natural selection in what we can consider in diversified manner.
The ever-existing background principles of nature that facilitated creation and aliveness became the guiding light of the foremost primary, aliveness. From this process, the newly generated cells interacted with external, immediate surrounding for better survival.
Slowly, they learnt pattern to connect with external relatedness and characteristics. They started surviving for longer period. Within this fundamental orientations, a few being more adaptive started generating superior level of loyal interactivity. There by, generating better life and living for themselves. This was the beginning of the resilient and enduring species who, being guided by the background principle, started their journey of survival. They learnt lessons from their parental surrounding and then started diversifying themselves by bisexual partnership. This shift and growth from asexual to bisexual mode strengthened the species in a holistic way. Afterwards, by more learning and forming groups, supporting and strengthening each other, and communicating more effectively and consciously, empowering own progeny and developing aesthetic aspects of life, they reached near human level.
In animal kingdom also many biologists have observed such qualities. They have observed ant-eating birds using long strait sticks to catch ants. Bumble bees use cues from their rivals, the honey bees learn where they could find best foods, thereby demonstrating social learning even from species other than own self. Seeing the dead body of own ones, elephants and chimpanzee recognize them and show feeling towards the departed one, thereby exhibiting awareness towards the dimension of death. Monkeys in the wilderness respect and follow not the strongest, but the eldest as their guide. Even, it is seen that lions, tigers and other animals create and protect their own territory and defend it in a planned manner.
Tens of trillions of cell society of a pre-human body is an epitomized evolving state. Growing in this way, the cell society happened to be human like at least by being inter active with own seven layers of micro surrounding (kshetra) and, later, dealing with seven layers of macro environment. After obtaining strengths and weaknesses from own immediate surroundings, they consciously confronted their share of survival fluctuations. Evolved awareness towards the aesthetic side of life bestowed on them entrenched long term memory, larger deductive ability in their brain, and this is how different groups of modern human beings come into existence.
If we can attribute that to the creation of DNA or RNA, the process involved was ‘natural selection’ that resulted in creation of a single cell. The process continued towards reproduction when cells wanted some kind of uniqueness and resulted in creation of male pattern and female pattern cells. Male pattern carried a bit extra energy. If that cell has particular aliveness like having a silver spoon would get things quite easily. Few are not getting and, in both case, both are ascribed. The abundant cells share their abundance with the lesser ones, and the lesser ones take some responsibility from this transaction. In this way the process of cross reproduction began. The lesser one took certain responsibilities for which they were taken care of. In this way, evolution started in a much more dynamic and organized way because the difference between the two brought multiplying value addition to the new cells they created. From this, sprang versatile species who also kept on evolving. There came waterborne, airborne creatures, then much later, finally came human being at the height of the process of natural selection.
Human body is composed of tens of trillions of cell. But all cells are neither identical nor carry same characteristics. The first cells of a man and a women when fertilizes is a single cell. But that single cell creates nerve cells, bone cells and other cells of the body which are extremely specific in their structure and function, which means the body goes through the process of ‘Karma Jativada’ or the ‘work-caste system’ in its evolution from that totipotent cell.
